Shintomichō, [Tōkyō]: Kamiyama Seishichi, Meiji 17 [1884].
An omocha-e toy print featuring an assortment of tiny games, probably for children to cut out and play (or pretend to play) with. The games include a "Fifty-Three Stations of the Tōkaidō" sugoroku, a yakusha-e sugoroku of famous actors, a "twelve months" sugoroku, a Rokkasen cat-parody sugoroku, Hyakunin Isshu cards, Rokkasen cards, Iroha cards, and so on. Kamiyama Seishichi, the artist and publisher, seems to have specialised in sugoroku, asobi-e, and illustrations of theatres. No records located in OCLC.
One colour woodblock-printed leaf, complete. Very minor wear and small ink marks to extremities. Fine. 37 x 24.8 cm. Text in Japanese.
