A scarce early-Meiji text on Christopher Columbus, with two woodblock-printed illustrations of the eponymous figure. The translator notes in the preface that the translation is of Columbus's logbook, although this is yet to be confirmed.
One volume, complete, on double leaves, fukurotoji style. Original wrappers, lightly worn and stained, brush and ink inscription and tear to lower. Original woodblock-printed daisen (mounted title piece). Crease, one or two small continuous wormholes to leaves, repaired. [1], 7 leaves. 22.7 x 15 cm.
