Sankō Genpei Seisuiki ["A Reference to the Chronicle of the Rise and Fall of the Minamoto and Taira Clans"] [with] Sankō Ishiyama Gunki ["A Reference to the War Chronicle of Ishiyama"]
Ikkeisai [Utagawa] [Ochiai], Yoshiiku [illustrated by].
Tōkyō: Hiro'oka Kōsuke, Meiji 16 [1883].
Four issues from the Kinko Jitsuroku ("Veritable Records of Past and Present Times") series produced by Eisensha. The vivid colour woodblock-printed vignettes by Yoshiiku featuring printing techniques like kirazuri (printing with mica) and nunomezuri (the technique of blind-printing a pattern using a piece of cloth affixed to a woodblock) are a highlight. The text has been printed with metal movable type and features a few woodblock-printed vignettes.
Four issues: issues 13 and 16 of Sankō Genpei Seisuiki and issues 35 and 36 of Sankō Ichiyama Gunki. Large, faint stain to lower half of issue 16, smaller continuous stain to lower edge of issue 13. Scrapes to lower wrappers of issues 13 and 16 also. Light stain to lower wrapper of issue 36, small ink stain to lower margin. Occasional creases, wormholes, small marks to leaves, chips to extremities, sticker removals to last pages of text. 25; 26; 26; 24 leaves. Each issue measures approximately 22.7 x 15 cm.
