Two sujigaki scenario-books for kyōgen kabuki performances staged in 1917 by the Ichimura-za theatre in Tokyo. The titles of the plays being performed that month and the names of the actors and their parts are given in each text. The upper wrapper of each issue has been colour woodblock-printed, while the text has been printed using movable type. The use of vignettes with floral frames suggests the influence of earlier scenario-books. The issues are the result of around one hundred years of evolution from early scenario or lyric books like ehon banzuke and nagauta shōhon. The numerous pages of advertisements at the back of each issue are certainly a sign of the times.

Two issues. Original wrappers, browned, small losses and chips to extremities, several light stains. Leaves browned, occasional marks to content. 10, [12]; 12, [8] p. Each issue measures approximately 21.7 x 14.6 cm.
