A hanging scroll depicting Jurōjin, the god of longevity and one of the Shichifukujin (Seven Gods of Fortune). Some of the lines that make up the illustration are thought to be hiragana characters spelling out the god's name or the poem above the image.
One hanging scroll, housed in wooden box. Sandanhyōsō, paper mounted on fabric. Two seal impressions, light soiling, marks, and a few minor scrapes to paper. Stains, losses, repairs, and considerable wear to mounting. Paper measures approximately 85.6 x 34.5 cm; scroll measures approximately 151.1 x 41.3 cm when unfurled.
