A draft in pen of an article by famed literary critic Takei Teruo (1927-2010) on the performance of The Merchant of Venice staged at the Nissei Theatre in 1968. The article is a critique of the performance produced by the Mingei Theatre Company and directed by Asari Keita (1933-2018). This article is believed to have first appeared in print in the March 1968 issue (issue 105) of Mingei no Nakama magazine. An interesting record of Japanese commentary on a Shakespearean play.
