Bandō Shichi-eishi ["The Seven Great Samurai of Bandō"]

An incomplete copy of this little-known work by the famous author Jippensha Ikku (1765-1831). The leaves are numbered 5, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. The first leaf ("5") appears to belong to a different work.
One four-hole-bound (yotsumetoji) volume, incomplete, on double leaves, traditional East Asian binding style (fukurotoji). Re-bound, leaves backed on washi paper. Daisen title panel handwritten. Thumbing, wear, marks, and occasional losses to illustrations and text. Illustrations hand-coloured. Binding string cut. [9] leaves. 17 x 12.5 cm.

Tenjin Shichidaiki ["Record of the Seven Generations of the Age of the Gods"]

An incomplete, re-titled edition (kaidaibon) of the kibyōshi Masumi no Kagami by Shinobu Sogen. The book includes leaves 11, 12, 13, and 14 from the first volume, 18, 19, and 20 from the second volume, and 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 21, 22, 23 and 25 from the third volume.
One four-hole-bound (yotsumetoji) volume, incomplete, on double leaves, traditional East Asian binding style (fukurotoji). Re-bound, leaves backed on washi paper. Ink stains to first few leaves. Thumbing, wear, small occasional losses, and ex-owner's circular stamp marks to many illustrations. Title handwritten on upper wrapper. [16] leaves. 16.8 x 12.7 cm.

A kibyōshi Taiheiki produced by an unidentified artist, illustrator, and publisher. The leaves are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5, and the work is presumed to be incomplete. An interesting text for further study.
